The newly constructed Chemistry Research building houses three floors of hood-intensive and instrumentation laboratory space, as well as office/seminar space, primarily focused on graduate research. The project also involved the creation of an underground NMR facility, linking the Chemistry building to an existing building, and a new parking garage and traffic system. The design of the building focuses on adhering to the existing Georgian character of the campus.  Utilizing the unique sloping site, part of the building is located below grade creating a courtyard above the NMR facility.
