Rowan University

Rowan Hall for the School of Engineering is the result of $100 Million donation from industrialist Henry Rowan which established a new engineering program and led to a name change for the University. Administrators at Rowan University designated the site for the new engineering school before the architect was selected. After careful analysis of the campuses, Ballinger recommended a different location, one which could engage a pond that ultimately became its central focus. This new site allowed the building to extend the campus fabric, create a sense of arrival, enhance the pedestrian circulation to the heart of the campus, and create a highly visible testimony to Henry and Betty Rowan.
