The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

The new research tower for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is the result of a Master Plan to create a unique, identifiable South Campus that expands research, clinical research, ambulatory care, office and support facilities. After creating the Master Plan for the 3,000,000 SF development, Ballinger designed the research component of the plan - 1,000,000 SF of basic research and biomedical research, supported by a 275,000 SF vivarium. Planned for 29 stories, the facility occupies a prominent urban site across from the Main Campus and will project an image worthy of the nation’s #1 Children’s Hospital. The tower will be connected to neighboring Abramson Research Center to encourage colleague interaction within a secure scientific research area.
